Unsere Tipps für Ihre Bewerbung

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead with your Head of Department or supervisory experience at the very top of your CV — the advert explicitly requires someone to manage the Commercial Conveyancing department.

2

📊 Quantify your caseload: e.g. "Managed 60+ active commercial property files simultaneously, maintaining 100% compliance with completion deadlines."

3

🎯 Highlight specific commercial conveyancing transaction types (freehold acquisitions, commercial leases, refinancing) as the advert covers "all types of conveyancing matters" — breadth of experience is key.

4

🤝 Include a dedicated section or bullet on staff development: reference the number of junior fee earners you have supervised, trained, or appraised, as this is a core responsibility listed in the advert.

5

🏆 Emphasise your track record at an established firm in Suffolk or East Anglia if applicable — the employer values local knowledge, personal service, and quality standards, so regional experience is a differentiator.

1Question

Tell me about a time you had to manage a junior fee earner who was struggling to meet deadlines — what did you do?

Situation: A newly qualified fee earner in my team was consistently missing exchange deadlines on residential-to-commercial conversion files, causing client complaints. Task: As supervising solicitor, I needed to address the performance issue without undermining their confidence. Action: I conducted a one-to-one review and identified the root cause — they were not using the case management system's deadline alerts effectively. I ran two focused training sessions on file progression and introduced a weekly check-in for their top 10 files. Result: Within 8 weeks, their on-time exchange rate improved from 62% to 91%, and client complaints relating to their files dropped to zero over the following quarter.
2Question

Describe a situation where you identified a quality issue in a colleague's work. How did you handle it?

Situation: During a file review, I noticed a junior fee earner had omitted to raise a restrictive covenant query on a commercial freehold acquisition worth £380,000. Task: The matter was due to exchange in 48 hours, so I needed to act quickly without alarming the client. Action: I immediately flagged the issue to the fee earner, jointly drafted an additional enquiry to the seller's solicitors, and updated the client with a clear explanation of the short delay. I also used the incident to create a due diligence checklist for the team. Result: The covenant was resolved within 24 hours, exchange proceeded one day late with no loss of goodwill, and the checklist has since been adopted across the department.
