Unsere Tipps für Ihre Bewerbung

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV personal statement with your Private Client specialism and any team management experience, as the advert explicitly seeks someone ready for Associate or Head of Department level.

2

📊 Quantify your caseload: e.g. 'Managed a caseload of 80+ active private client matters including complex estate administrations exceeding £1.2M' to demonstrate capacity and seniority.

3

🎯 Mention STEP accreditation or active STEP membership prominently if you hold it — the advert flags it as preferable, so it will differentiate your application in a small candidate pool.

4

🌐 Highlight any experience supervising or mentoring junior fee earners, as the role involves managing a small team within the Private Client Department.

5

🤝 Reference your track record of handling an array of private client matters (Wills, LPAs, Trusts, Probate, Court of Protection) to mirror the advert's language and pass ATS screening.

Aperçu — adapté à Reed

Dear Hiring Manager,

Private client law is the core of my practice, and the opportunity to step into an Associate or Head of Department role at your South Holland firm is precisely the progression I am seeking. With solid experience across Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Trust administration, I am confident in managing a varied caseload while supporting a small team to deliver high-quality client outcomes.

My background in private client work includes handling complex estate administrations with significant Inheritance Tax considerations, drafting bespoke Will structures for high-net-worth clients, and supervising junior fee earners through their development. I hold a strong understanding of STEP principles and have consistently prioritised client care throughout sensitive and often emotionally charged matters.

1Question

Tell me about a time you managed a particularly sensitive client matter — how did you balance legal advice with emotional support?

Situation: A widow in her late seventies came to me three weeks after her husband's death needing urgent Probate advice on an estate worth £1.8M, including a property portfolio and significant HMRC Inheritance Tax exposure. Task: I needed to guide her through the legal process while she was still grieving and overwhelmed. Action: I scheduled shorter, more frequent calls rather than long formal meetings, provided plain-English written summaries after each step, and coordinated directly with her accountant to remove the administrative burden from her. I also flagged a potential IHT relief on one property that reduced the liability by £42,000. Result: Probate was granted within four months, the client wrote a formal letter of thanks to the firm, and she subsequently instructed us on her own Will and LPA.
2Question

Give an example of when you had to manage competing deadlines across a large caseload. What was your approach?

Situation: During a particularly busy quarter I was carrying 68 active files, including three estates approaching the 12-month Inheritance Tax payment deadline simultaneously. Task: I needed to ensure no deadline was missed while maintaining quality across the full caseload. Action: I introduced a weekly priority matrix, colour-coded by urgency and complexity, and delegated routine LPA correspondence to a paralegal I briefed each Monday morning. I also blocked two hours each Friday to review all time-critical files. Result: All three IHT deadlines were met with no penalties, the paralegal's involvement freed up roughly six hours of my time per week, and overall file progression scores in our quarterly review improved by 15%.
