Unsere Tipps für Ihre Bewerbung

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV with a Professional Summary that explicitly names SolidWorks and CAD/CAM, as these are the two skills called out in both the job title and the Essential requirements section.

2

📊 Quantify your design output: e.g. 'Produced SolidWorks models and manufacturing drawings for 30+ bespoke fabricated assemblies per year, reducing rework by 15%'.

3

🎯 Include a dedicated Skills section listing SolidWorks, CAD/CAM, CNC machining, sheet metal, and welding — these are the ATS keywords the recruiter's system will scan for first.

4

🔧 For each role on your CV, describe the fabrication and manufacturing context (e.g. sheet metal, welded structures, CNC components) to mirror the advert's emphasis on bespoke, concept-to-manufacture projects.

5

📋 Highlight your HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) prominently in your Education section, as this is listed as an Essential requirement and will be a filter criterion.

1Question

Tell me about a time you identified a design fault during production and how you resolved it under time pressure.

Situation: During fabrication of a welded steel frame assembly, the production team flagged that a bracket I had designed created a clash with a weld seam, halting work on 6 units. Task: I needed to resolve the interference and reissue drawings within 4 hours to avoid delaying a customer delivery. Action: I opened the SolidWorks assembly, modified the bracket geometry to clear the weld zone by 8mm, updated the flat-pattern drawing and reissued the revised manufacturing pack to the shop floor within 3 hours. I also added a weld-clearance check to our standard design review checklist. Result: Production resumed the same afternoon, the 6 units were completed on schedule, and the checklist update prevented 3 similar issues on subsequent projects.
2Question

Describe a project where you collaborated closely with fabrication or machining teams — what challenges arose and how did you handle them?

Situation: I was lead designer on a bespoke CNC-machined and welded enclosure for an industrial client, involving 22 individual components. Task: The fabrication team raised concerns that several tight-tolerance features were difficult to achieve with their existing fixturing. Action: I arranged a joint design review with the fabrication supervisor and two machinists, walked through the SolidWorks model together, and revised 5 components to relax tolerances where structural requirements allowed — reducing required setups from 4 to 2 per part. I updated the CAD/CAM programs accordingly. Result: Fabrication time per enclosure dropped from 18 hours to 13 hours, saving the business approximately £1,200 in labour per unit across a 10-unit order.
