Our tips for applying

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV personal statement with your valid UK driving licence and clean (or near-clean) record, as the advert explicitly requires no more than 3 penalty points and at least 12 months' licence holding.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 18–22 customer drops per shift across a rural Cornwall route, maintaining a 98% on-time delivery rate.'

3

🎯 Highlight any experience handling customer complaints or order changes at the doorstep — the advert specifically calls out explaining substitutions and processing refunds as a core duty.

4

🚐 Mention any van or LGV driving experience and vehicle safety check routines (daily walkaround checks, load securing) to match the 'loading and roadworthy checks' requirement.

5

🤝 Include a brief example of working independently on a route while staying connected to a base team, as the advert emphasises solo working with back-at-base support.

Aperçu — adapté à Tesco

Dear Hiring Manager,

Tesco's reputation for putting customers first is exactly the standard I hold myself to on the road, which is why the Customer Delivery Driver role at Launceston Superstore appeals to me directly. I hold a valid full UK driving licence with a clean record, and I have hands-on experience completing multi-drop delivery routes while maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and customer communication.

My background in customer-facing delivery work has equipped me with the ability to handle order substitutions and short-dated items confidently at the doorstep, keeping customers informed and reassured. I understand the importance of completing daily vehicle checks, loading safely, and managing time slots efficiently — skills I have applied consistently across rural routes not unlike those serving the Launceston area.

Exemples de réponses STAR

Réponses modèles avec la méthode Situation-Tâche-Action-Résultat. À adapter à votre vécu.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent customer service under time pressure.

Situation: During a busy Saturday shift at a grocery delivery company, I was running 15 minutes behind schedule after a road closure near Bodmin added unexpected mileage to my route. Task: I needed to complete 19 remaining drops within their booked slots while keeping customers informed. Action: I called ahead to the 3 customers most at risk of a late delivery, explained the delay clearly and offered a realistic revised time. I also re-sequenced 4 stops to minimise further delays. Result: All 19 customers received their orders within 20 minutes of their original slot, and I received 5-star feedback from 17 of them on the post-delivery survey that week.
2Question

Give an example of when you dealt with a frustrated or upset customer and how you resolved it.

Situation: A customer in Launceston received a delivery where 5 items had been substituted without her prior knowledge, including a key allergen she could not use. Task: I needed to resolve her concern on the doorstep quickly and professionally. Action: I listened without interrupting, apologised sincerely, and immediately processed a refund for the 3 unsuitable substitutes using the handheld device. I also noted her allergen preferences in the delivery comments for the store team. Result: The customer thanked me before I left and later contacted the store to commend how the situation was handled. The store manager shared her feedback at the next team briefing.
