I nostri consigli per candidarsi

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Open your CV with a Personal Statement that explicitly names EYFS and your experience in Early Years settings, as the advert lists this as a core requirement.

2

📊 Quantify your classroom experience: e.g. 'Supported 24 Reception pupils across 3 daily small-group phonics sessions, contributing to 90% meeting expected EYFS milestones'.

3

🎯 Dedicate a skills section to SEN support — the advert flags this as 'highly desirable', so even brief experience (e.g. supporting a child with ADHD or autism) should be clearly stated.

4

🌐 Reference your knowledge of the EYFS framework by name in your CV, including specific areas of learning such as Communication & Language or Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

5

🤝 Include a bullet point about collaborating with class teachers and other staff, as the role explicitly requires supporting the teacher and working within a team environment.

Aperçu — adapté à Reed

Dear Hiring Manager,

Early Years Foundation Stage education is where I believe the most formative and lasting impact on a child's development takes place — which is why the EYFS Teaching Assistant position at your Pendle primary school immediately stood out to me. With hands-on experience delivering play-based learning and supporting children on a 1:1 basis, I am confident I can contribute meaningfully to your Reception team from September 2026.

My background in early years settings has equipped me with a solid grounding in the EYFS framework, including supporting children's social, emotional, and educational development through structured routines and creative activities. I have worked alongside class teachers to prepare stimulating learning environments and have provided targeted support to children with SEN, adapting my approach to meet individual needs with patience and consistency.

1Question

Tell me about a time you helped a child who was struggling to settle into a classroom routine.

Situation: In my previous Reception role, a 4-year-old boy was consistently distressed during morning registration, often refusing to join the group and becoming withdrawn. Task: I was asked by the class teacher to develop a settling strategy for him. Action: I introduced a personalised visual timetable at his peg and spent the first 10 minutes each morning doing a short one-to-one activity he chose — usually building blocks — before gently transitioning him to the group. I also liaised with his parents weekly to share what was working. Result: Within 6 weeks, he was joining registration independently, and his key worker noted a marked improvement in his engagement across all EYFS areas of learning.
2Question

Describe a situation where you adapted your approach to meet the individual needs of a child.

Situation: I was supporting a 5-year-old girl with speech and language delays during small-group phonics sessions in an EYFS classroom. Task: Standard group delivery was not reaching her — she disengaged after around 3 minutes and struggled to retain letter sounds. Action: I worked with the SENCO to introduce tactile letter cards and a picture-matching game aligned to her interests in animals. I reduced her group size to 2 children and shortened sessions to 15 minutes with a movement break. Result: Over one half-term, she progressed from recognising 4 phonemes to 11, and her confidence in group activities increased noticeably, which the class teacher recorded in her EYFS learning journal.
