Nos conseils pour postuler

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Open your Personal Statement with your Solicitor qualification and PQE level, as the advert explicitly requires a qualified Solicitor with 1+ PQE — make this immediately visible.

2

📊 Quantify your caseload experience: e.g. 'Managed a mixed caseload of 40+ professional negligence files simultaneously, including pre-action and litigated matters'.

3

🎯 Highlight any seat or experience in professional indemnity, defendant personal injury, commercial litigation, property litigation, or contentious probate — the advert lists these as directly transferable and will be screened for them.

4

📝 Dedicate a CV bullet to disclosure exercises and witness statement drafting, as these are explicitly listed responsibilities — use specific examples such as document volumes reviewed or complexity of matters handled.

5

🤝 Reference experience liaising with counsel and external experts, as the advert specifically calls this out — even one concrete example (e.g. 'Instructed and briefed leading counsel on a £500k professional negligence claim') will differentiate your application.

1Question

Tell me about a time you managed competing deadlines across multiple files — how did you prioritise and what was the outcome?

Situation: During a particularly busy quarter, I was simultaneously managing 28 active files, with three court deadlines falling within the same two-week window. Task: I needed to ensure all three matters met their respective CPR deadlines without compromising quality on any file. Action: I mapped every deadline onto a shared tracker, identified the two most document-intensive tasks, and blocked focused drafting time three days in advance for each. I flagged one matter to my supervising partner early, which allowed us to agree a short extension with the other side. Result: All three deadlines were met; the extension request was granted without penalty, and the partner commended the early escalation as best practice for junior associates.
2Question

Describe a situation where you identified a key legal issue in a matter that others had overlooked. What did you do and what was the result?

Situation: While reviewing a bundle of documents on a defendant personal injury claim valued at £320,000, I noticed a discrepancy between the claimant's medical records and the chronology presented in their particulars of claim. Task: I needed to assess whether this undermined the causation argument and raise it appropriately. Action: I prepared a detailed note setting out the inconsistency, cross-referencing three medical reports and two GP letters, and presented it to the supervising solicitor with a draft letter of instruction to our medical expert. Result: The expert's supplemental report confirmed the causation gap, which led to a significantly reduced settlement of £95,000 — a saving of over £225,000 for the insurer client.
