Why Health and Safety

Every workplace in the UK has a legal duty to protect its employees, which is why health and safety professionals are in constant demand. From construction and logistics to healthcare and corporate offices, skilled specialists are essential to reducing risks, ensuring compliance, and safeguarding staff.

This demand translates into competitive salaries, career progression, and long-term job security.

How It Works

Step 1 – IOSH Managing Safely

Begin with IOSH Managing Safely, an internationally recognised course designed for managers and supervisors. You will learn how to assess and control risks, understand legal responsibilities, and investigate incidents.

Step 2 – NEBOSH General Certificate

Build on your foundation with the NEBOSH General Certificate, the gold standard for health and safety professionals. This qualification covers workplace hazards, health and safety legislation, and how to design and implement effective safety systems. It’s one of the most widely recognised certifications across industries and opens the door to mid-level health and safety roles.

Step 3 – Risk Assessments

Next, you’ll complete a series of workplace-standard risk assessments. This step focuses on the practical application of everything you’ve learned, ensuring you canidentify hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend control measures.

Step 4 – Job Placement

Once qualified, our recruitment team works with you directly to prepare applications, set up interviews, and secure your first role in health and safety.

What You Get

Nos conseils pour postuler

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV personal statement with your NEBOSH General Certificate and IOSH Managing Safely credentials, as these are the two qualifications the advert explicitly names as the programme's core outputs.

2

📊 Quantify any prior experience with safety, compliance, or risk — even informally: "Conducted 12 workplace risk assessments covering manual handling and fire safety during NEBOSH training."

3

🎯 Tailor your CV to the industries mentioned in the advert — construction, logistics, healthcare, and corporate offices — by highlighting any prior work in these sectors, however unrelated to H&S.

4

🌐 Include a dedicated 'Qualifications' section near the top of your CV listing NEBOSH and IOSH certifications with the awarding body name and completion date, as ATS systems scan for these exact terms.

5

🤝 In your cover letter, reference the practical risk assessment step of the programme to demonstrate you can apply theory to real workplace scenarios, not just pass exams.

1Question

Tell me about a time you identified a potential risk or problem before it became a serious issue — what did you do?

Situation: While working as a supervisor in a busy warehouse, I noticed a colleague routinely stacking pallets above the marked safe height limit during peak periods. Task: It was my responsibility to maintain a safe working environment, even though formally raising it could slow throughput. Action: I spoke directly with the colleague, explained the crush and tip-over risk, and escalated to the site manager with a written note referencing the manual handling guidance on display. I also suggested a brief team reminder at the next morning briefing. Result: The practice stopped immediately, the manager introduced a weekly visual check, and we completed the following quarter with zero manual handling incidents — a first for that site in 18 months.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to learn a new skill or process quickly. How did you approach it?

Situation: I was asked to cover a colleague's compliance reporting duties at two weeks' notice when they left the business unexpectedly. Task: I needed to produce a monthly RIDDOR summary report I had never compiled before, with a board deadline in 10 working days. Action: I broke the task into three stages — understanding the RIDDOR categories by reading the HSE guidance, auditing the incident log for the previous 6 months, and cross-checking entries against the reporting thresholds. I also called the HSE helpline once to clarify a borderline case. Result: I submitted the report on time with zero errors identified in the subsequent internal audit, and the process I documented became the team's standard operating procedure.
