Right Now Group is recruiting on behalf of a leading logistics organisation based at Heathrow for an experienced Export Supervisor to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional with strong export and customs experience who is ready to step into a supervisory role. You'll oversee export operations during the evening shift, providing leadership to a team of three Logistics Clerks while ensuring the smooth running of the department after the Export Manager has finished for the day.
As Logistics Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring export shipments are processed accurately, compliantly, and on time, while supporting and supervising the evening logistics team.
Key Responsibilities of Export Supervisor:
- Lead, support, and supervise a team of three Logistics Clerks during the evening shift.
- Act as the senior point of contact within the logistics department after the Logistics Manager has left for the day.
- Review and audit completed work to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company procedures.
- Prepare and process export documentation, including MAWBs, HAWBs, commercial invoices, customs declarations, and associated shipping documentation.
- Complete customs entries using the CDS customs entry system.
- Ensure all export shipments comply with UK customs legislation and international trade regulations.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, airlines, shipping lines, transport providers, and customs authorities to ensure efficient movement of shipments.
- Manage inbound transport operations after the Transport Supervisor has finished, resolving any issues and ensuring deliveries remain on schedule.
- Maintain accurate export records and supporting documentation.
- Investigate and resolve shipment or customs-related issues quickly and effectively.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Drive high standards of compliance, customer service, and continuous improvement across the department.
Shift: Monday to Friday - some Sundays
Hours: 17:00 to 02:00
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000
The Successful Candidate will have:
- Previous experience in export logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or a similar logistics role.
- Strong knowledge of export documentation, customs procedures, and international shipping regulations.
- Experience using the CDS customs entry system.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and perform under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to build relationships with colleagues, customers, carriers, and customs authorities.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and logistics management systems.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
