  • Maintain and update customer and sales data using internal systems and Microsoft Office
  • Produce sales reports and support the field sales team where required

Our tips for applying

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Open your Personal Statement with explicit mention of inbound sales and order processing experience, as the advert lists these as the two primary duties.

2

📊 Quantify your sales support impact: e.g. 'Processed 80+ sales quotations per week, achieving a 65% lead-to-order conversion rate' to stand out against generic applicants.

3

🎯 Highlight your Microsoft Office proficiency prominently — the advert specifically names Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, so list each individually rather than writing 'MS Office'.

4

🤝 Include a bullet demonstrating cross-functional liaison (e.g. coordinating with warehouse or logistics teams), as the role explicitly requires working with sales, admin, and warehouse departments.

5

📋 Tailor your CV to show experience with CRM or internal order management systems, even if by a different name, as 'internal systems' data management is listed as a core duty.

1Question

Tell me about a time you successfully converted an inbound enquiry into a confirmed order — what approach did you take?

Situation: A prospective customer contacted us requesting a quote for a bulk stationery order worth approximately £4,200 but had also approached two competitors. Task: I needed to respond quickly and accurately to win the business. Action: I prepared a detailed quotation within 90 minutes using our pricing system and Excel, included a tailored product comparison table, and followed up by phone the same afternoon to address any questions. I also coordinated with the warehouse team to confirm stock availability before committing to a delivery date. Result: The customer confirmed the order that day, citing our response speed and accuracy as the deciding factor. The account went on to place three further orders over the next quarter.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to liaise between multiple internal departments to resolve an order issue. What was the outcome?

Situation: A long-standing customer received an incomplete delivery — 8 of 20 items were missing — and contacted us urgently as the goods were needed for a trade event the following morning. Task: I needed to investigate and resolve the issue within the same working day. Action: I immediately contacted the warehouse team to locate the missing stock, confirmed with the logistics coordinator that a same-day courier run was feasible, and kept the customer updated every 30 minutes by phone and email. I also raised an internal discrepancy report to prevent recurrence. Result: The remaining 8 items were delivered by 17:30, the customer attended their event without disruption, and they subsequently renewed their annual supply contract worth £18,000.
