I nostri consigli per candidarsi

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Place your C&G 2330 and C&G 2382 qualifications prominently in a dedicated 'Qualifications' section near the top of your CV, as the advert lists these as essential requirements.

2

📊 Quantify your EICR and inspection experience: e.g. 'Completed 200+ EICRs across domestic properties, maintaining a zero non-compliance rate over 3 years'.

3

🎯 Highlight your fault-finding experience on both single and three-phase installations explicitly, as the advert calls this out as a core daily task.

4

🔧 If you hold C&G 2391, feature it as a standout credential — the advert flags it as highly desirable, so it will differentiate your application from other candidates.

5

🚗 Confirm your full UK driving licence in your personal profile or key skills section, as operating a company vehicle is a stated requirement for this role.

Aperçu — adapté à Randstad Construction & Property

Dear Hiring Manager,

Randstad's in-house maintenance Electrician position in Salisbury is precisely the role my qualifications and experience are built for. Holding both C&G 2330 and C&G 2382 (18th Edition), I carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports, Testing & Inspection, and Part P-compliant minor works as a matter of daily practice. My fault-finding capability spans single and three-phase domestic installations, and I am comfortable completing all associated certification accurately and promptly.

My background in domestic electrical maintenance has equipped me to work with limited supervision, manage van stock responsibly, and communicate sensitively with residents — including elderly and vulnerable customers. I have completed over 150 EICRs in a similar in-house setting, consistently flagging urgent Health & Safety defects to the Qualifying Supervisor within the same working day.

1Question

Tell me about a time you identified a serious Health & Safety defect during a routine job — what did you do?

Situation: During a routine EICR at a mid-terrace property, I discovered an overloaded consumer unit with signs of scorching on two MCBs — a fire risk the resident was unaware of. Task: I needed to make the installation safe immediately while following the correct reporting procedure. Action: I isolated the affected circuits, clearly labelled them as unsafe, and called the Qualifying Supervisor within 15 minutes to report a Category 2 defect. I also explained the situation calmly to the elderly resident to avoid distress. Result: An emergency remediation was booked for the following morning, the unit was replaced within 24 hours, and the resident received a written safety notice. The incident was logged with no escalation required.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to make a complex technical decision without direct supervision. What was the outcome?

Situation: I attended an out-of-hours callout where a tenant had lost power to the ground floor. The distribution board showed no obvious trip, and the Qualifying Supervisor was unavailable. Task: I had to diagnose and restore supply safely without guidance, in an occupied property at 9 pm. Action: I carried out a systematic isolation test across all circuits, identified a failed neutral connection on the ring main caused by a corroded junction box behind a fitted unit. I made the connection safe, re-terminated using appropriate connectors, and tested the circuit to BS 7671 before restoring supply. Result: Power was restored within 90 minutes, I documented the repair fully, and the supervisor confirmed the remediation was compliant when reviewing my notes the next morning.
