I nostri consigli per candidarsi

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Open your CV with a Personal Statement that explicitly names 'Private Client law', 'Wills & Probate', and 'Estate Administration' — these are the three core areas the advert leads with.

2

📊 Quantify your caseload: e.g. 'Managed a caseload of 60+ active Private Client matters simultaneously, including 12 taxable estates exceeding £1M in assets.'

3

🎯 Highlight STEP membership or progress towards it prominently in your qualifications section — the advert flags it as desirable and it differentiates candidates at this salary level.

4

🌐 Include a dedicated 'Technical Skills' line listing the specific legal software and case management systems you have used (e.g. Osprey, Proclaim, LEAP), as the advert explicitly asks for confidence in these tools.

5

🤝 Add a brief 'Business Development' bullet under each relevant role, referencing client retention activity or referral network building, as the advert lists this as a day-to-day responsibility.

1Question

Describe a situation where you managed a particularly complex or contentious probate matter. What was your approach and what was the outcome?

Situation: A client instructed me on an estate valued at £1.4 million involving two properties, a discretionary trust, and a disputed specific legacy between three beneficiaries. Task: I needed to administer the estate efficiently while managing family tensions and ensuring full IHT compliance with HMRC. Action: I prepared a detailed estate account early, held a joint meeting with all beneficiaries to set expectations, instructed a RICS valuer for both properties, and submitted the IHT400 with supporting schedules within 8 weeks of instruction. I maintained weekly written updates to all parties throughout. Result: HMRC issued clearance within 14 weeks, the disputed legacy was resolved without litigation, and the estate was distributed within 7 months of the grant — 3 months ahead of the client's expectation.
2Question

Tell me about a time you had to manage competing deadlines across a large caseload with minimal supervision. How did you prioritise?

Situation: Following a colleague's sudden departure, I absorbed an additional 18 active files on top of my existing caseload of 45 matters, including four estates approaching IHT payment deadlines. Task: I had to ensure no client suffered delay or incurred HMRC interest charges while maintaining quality across all files. Action: I triaged the inherited files within 48 hours, flagged the four time-critical estates to my supervising partner, and created a priority matrix using our case management system to schedule all upcoming deadlines for the next 6 weeks. I communicated proactively with clients on the inherited files to reset expectations. Result: All four IHT deadlines were met without penalty, no complaints were raised, and I successfully integrated the full caseload within 3 weeks.
