Unsere Tipps für Ihre Bewerbung

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV with your CIOB and/or CABE membership prominently in your Professional Profile, as the advert lists this as the primary requirement.

2

📊 Quantify your built environment experience: e.g. 'Advised 30+ apprentices across Level 4–6 construction programmes, achieving 92% timely completion rate'.

3

🎯 Explicitly reference End Point Assessment (EPA) experience in your CV, as the advert calls this out as a core accountability — name specific EPA organisations or standards you have worked with.

4

🌐 Highlight any remote or online working experience, as this is a fully remote, part-time role — note tools used (e.g. Microsoft Teams, VLE platforms) and how you managed distributed stakeholders.

5

🤝 Include a bullet demonstrating employer engagement, such as liaising with employer representatives to track apprentice progress, as the advert repeatedly references employer relationships alongside apprentice support.

Aperçu — adapté à The Guardian

Dear Hiring Manager,

The University of the Built Environment's Apprenticeship Technical Manager role is precisely where my CIOB membership and extensive construction industry experience can add immediate value. Having worked within the built environment for over a decade, I have a thorough grounding in apprenticeship standards, End Point Assessment requirements, and portfolio evidence review — the three pillars at the heart of this position.

My background in construction professional practice and learner support means I am well placed to conduct desktop reviews of apprentice portfolios, identify evidence gaps early, and provide structured 1-to-1 guidance for apprentices at risk of non-completion. I have previously liaised with employer representatives to align on-programme activity with EPA criteria, ensuring timely and compliant completions across cohorts of 20 or more apprentices.

1Question

Tell me about a time you supported a learner or apprentice who was at risk of not completing their programme — what did you do and what was the outcome?

Situation: A Level 4 Site Supervisor apprentice at a mid-sized contractor was 14 weeks behind on portfolio submissions with EPA booked for the following quarter. Task: As their technical advisor, I needed to stabilise their progress and prevent a costly EPA deferral. Action: I arranged weekly 45-minute 1-to-1 video calls to audit each KSB gap, co-created a prioritised evidence plan with the employer's line manager, and provided annotated feedback on three draft portfolio entries per fortnight. Result: The apprentice submitted a compliant portfolio within 10 weeks, passed EPA at the first attempt, and the employer subsequently enrolled two further apprentices onto the programme.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to manage competing priorities between an apprentice, their employer, and an academic team.

Situation: An apprentice's employer wanted to accelerate gateway sign-off 8 weeks early to align with a site handover, while the academic team flagged three incomplete units. Task: I had to reconcile commercial pressure with compliance obligations under the apprenticeship standard. Action: I convened a three-way call with the employer representative, the Apprenticeship Outcomes Officer, and the apprentice, presenting a gap analysis showing exactly which evidence was outstanding and proposing a revised 6-week completion sprint with fortnightly check-ins. Result: The employer agreed to the revised timeline, the apprentice completed the outstanding units within 5 weeks, and gateway was signed off one week ahead of the employer's revised deadline with full academic sign-off.
