Nos conseils pour postuler

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV with your valid UK driving licence details (licence type, years held, penalty points) as this is the single non-negotiable requirement stated in the advert.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 25+ doorstep deliveries per shift across 15-mile radius, maintaining 98% on-time arrival rate'.

3

🎯 Highlight any experience handling customer complaints or order changes at the doorstep, as the advert specifically calls out communicating substitutions and short-dated items.

4

🤝 Include a line about vehicle checks or van maintenance awareness — the advert explicitly lists loading safely and completing roadworthy checks as a core responsibility.

5

🌐 If you have experience with any grocery, parcel, or food delivery role (e.g. Amazon Flex, Ocado, Deliveroo), name the employer and volume of deliveries to demonstrate direct sector relevance to Tesco's operation.

Aperçu — adapté à Tesco

Dear Hiring Manager,

Tesco's reputation for putting customers first is exactly the environment in which I thrive, which is why the Customer Delivery Driver role at Baldock Extra immediately stood out to me. I hold a valid full UK driving licence with no penalty points and have a proven track record of completing high-volume doorstep deliveries on time while communicating order changes and substitutions clearly and professionally.

My background in delivery and customer-facing roles has equipped me with strong vehicle safety awareness — from pre-drive checks through to safe van loading — as well as the ability to work independently across varied shift patterns. I consistently prioritise the customer experience at every doorstep, treating each order with care and resolving any issues calmly and efficiently.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered outstanding service to a customer under time pressure.

Situation: During a busy Saturday shift I was running 20 minutes behind schedule after a road closure added unexpected mileage to my route. Task: I needed to complete 6 remaining deliveries within their booked slots without customers waiting. Action: I called ahead to the two customers with the tightest windows to give them a realistic updated arrival time, reorganised my remaining drop order using the van's sat-nav, and drove efficiently to recover 12 minutes. Result: Five of the six customers received their orders within their original slot; the sixth thanked me for the proactive call. I received a positive customer feedback comment that week, which my manager shared at the team briefing.
2Question

Give an example of when you had to deal with a frustrated or upset customer and how you resolved it.

Situation: A customer discovered at the doorstep that three items in her weekly shop had been substituted with different brands, including a product she was allergic to. Task: I needed to resolve her concern quickly and professionally while keeping the rest of my delivery schedule on track. Action: I listened without interrupting, apologised sincerely, immediately removed the allergen item from the order and processed a refund on my handheld device for all three substituted products. I also noted her preferences on the system for future reference. Result: The customer's frustration visibly eased; she thanked me before I left and later left a five-star rating for the delivery. The interaction took under four minutes and I completed my remaining drops on time.
