Nos conseils pour postuler

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Highlight your valid UK driving licence prominently at the top of your CV — the advert lists this as the sole hard requirement, so make licence type, years held, and penalty points (or clean record) immediately visible.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 25+ doorstep deliveries per shift with a 98% on-time rate over 18 months' to stand out against other applicants.

3

🎯 Tailor your personal statement to mention customer-facing doorstep service specifically, as the advert emphasises 'warm, natural service at the doorstep' rather than just driving.

4

🤝 Include any experience handling complaints, refunds, or order changes — the advert explicitly calls out communicating substitutions and processing refunds as key responsibilities.

5

🚐 Mention any experience with vehicle checks, load safety, or van cleanliness, as the advert lists these as direct responsibilities and they differentiate you from candidates with only car-driving experience.

Aperçu — adapté à Tesco

Dear Hiring Manager,

Tesco's reputation for putting customers first is precisely what draws me to the Customer Delivery Driver role at Birkenhead Bidston Moss Extra. With a clean UK driving licence held for over two years and hands-on experience in customer-facing delivery work, I am confident I can represent Tesco professionally at every doorstep — handling order substitutions and refunds calmly while consistently meeting time slot commitments.

My background in delivery and customer service has prepared me well for the independence this role demands. Over 18 months in a previous delivery position, I completed an average of 24 drops per shift, maintained a clean vehicle record, and regularly communicated product changes to customers in a friendly, reassuring manner — skills that map directly onto Tesco's expectations for this position.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent service to a customer who was initially unhappy.

Situation: During a busy Friday evening round, I arrived at a customer's address to find that two items in their order had been substituted without prior notice. The customer was frustrated as one substitution was a product they couldn't eat due to an allergy. Task: I needed to resolve their concern quickly, maintain goodwill, and keep my remaining 8 deliveries on schedule. Action: I calmly explained the substitution reason, immediately processed a refund for the unsuitable item on my handheld device, and offered to flag a preference note on their account. Result: The customer thanked me before I left, and I received a positive feedback comment through the delivery app the following day, which my manager highlighted in our team briefing.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to adapt quickly to an unexpected change while working independently.

Situation: Midway through a delivery shift covering 22 drops, my route was updated by the depot to redirect me around a road closure, adding roughly 40 minutes to my estimated journey. Task: I had to recalculate my approach to ensure customers in the later slots still received their orders within the promised window. Action: I prioritised the furthest addresses first, contacted the depot to flag two customers whose slots were at risk, and drove efficiently between stops. Result: I completed all 22 deliveries with only one customer receiving their order 8 minutes outside their slot, and I proactively apologised at the door, which they accepted without complaint.
