Nos conseils pour postuler

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV with your valid UK driving licence details (full/automatic, years held, penalty points) as this is the single non-negotiable requirement stated in the advert.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 25+ customer drops per shift across a 40-mile radius with a 98% on-time delivery rate'.

3

🎯 Highlight any previous customer-facing delivery roles (grocery, parcel, food) and reference handling substitutions or order queries at the doorstep — Tesco explicitly calls this out.

4

🚐 Mention vehicle checks and van maintenance awareness in your experience section, as the advert stresses roadworthy checks and keeping the van clean and organised.

5

🤝 Include a brief personal statement referencing flexible availability across 7-day windows (08:00–23:00) to show you match Tesco's scheduling requirements from day one.

Aperçu — adapté à Tesco

Dear Hiring Manager,

Tesco's reputation for putting customers first is exactly the environment in which I thrive, which is why the Customer Delivery Driver role at your Bedford Extra store caught my attention. I hold a valid full UK driving licence with a clean record and bring hands-on experience in time-critical home delivery, including managing order substitutions and conducting pre-drive vehicle safety checks to keep every run roadworthy and reliable.

My background in customer-facing delivery roles has equipped me to represent an employer professionally at the doorstep, communicate clearly about order changes, and adapt quickly when circumstances shift mid-route. I am comfortable working independently across varied shift patterns and am available across the full 08:00–23:00 window, seven days a week.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent customer service under time pressure.

Situation: During a busy Saturday shift at a parcel delivery firm, my route ran 40 minutes behind after a road closure added 8 miles to my journey. Task: I needed to complete 22 remaining drops before the last slot expired at 20:00. Action: I contacted the depot to flag the delay, reprioritised the remaining stops by proximity using the onboard sat-nav, and called ahead to three customers with tight windows to manage their expectations. Result: I completed all 22 deliveries by 19:52, received zero missed-slot complaints, and two customers left positive feedback cards praising the proactive communication.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to adapt quickly to an unexpected change while working independently.

Situation: Midway through a grocery delivery shift, I discovered that 6 items across 4 orders had been incorrectly picked and were short-dated by one day. Task: I had to resolve this at the doorstep without a supervisor present. Action: I explained the situation clearly to each customer, offered the items at a discount where policy allowed, and processed two full refunds using the handheld terminal. I also logged the picking discrepancy for the store manager on return. Result: All four customers accepted the resolution positively, and the store reduced picking errors for that product line by 20% the following week after my report was reviewed.
