Nos conseils pour postuler

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV with your valid UK driving licence details (full or automatic, issued date, penalty points) as the advert lists this as the primary hard requirement.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 18–22 customer drops per shift across a 40-mile radius with a 99% on-time delivery rate'.

3

🎯 Highlight any experience handling customer complaints or order changes at the doorstep, as the advert specifically calls out communicating substitutions and short-dated items.

4

🤝 Include a line about working independently for extended periods, as the role involves solo driving for most of the shift — show you are self-motivated without constant supervision.

5

🚐 Mention any van or LGV driving experience, vehicle safety checks, or loading/unloading responsibilities to match the 'loading safely and completing all checks' requirement in the advert.

Aperçu — adapté à Tesco

Dear Hiring Manager,

Tesco's reputation for putting customers first is precisely what draws me to the Customer Delivery Driver role at Prestwich Superstore. With a clean UK driving licence held for over three years and hands-on experience in customer-facing delivery work, I am confident I can represent Tesco professionally at every doorstep — managing order substitutions calmly and ensuring every customer receives their shopping in perfect condition within their time slot.

My background in delivery driving includes completing up to 20 drops per shift, conducting daily vehicle safety checks, and loading vans to minimise product damage. I have regularly handled situations where customers needed reassurance about changes to their orders, and I understand how a warm, natural interaction at the door can turn a potential complaint into a loyal customer.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent service to a customer in a challenging situation.

Situation: During a busy Friday shift I arrived at a customer's address to find that 4 items in their order had been substituted and one was missing entirely. The customer was elderly and had planned meals around the original order. Task: I needed to resolve the issue on the doorstep without causing distress or delaying my remaining 14 drops. Action: I calmly walked through each substitution, explained the alternatives, and processed a refund for the missing item using the handheld device. I also noted her preference for the following week's delivery. Result: The customer called the store to compliment the service, and my manager flagged it in the team briefing the following Monday.
2Question

Describe a time you had to adapt quickly to an unexpected change while working independently.

Situation: Halfway through a 19-drop shift, my route navigation app crashed and I lost the optimised sequence for the remaining 11 deliveries. Task: I had to reorganise the drops myself to avoid missing customer time slots, all while on the road alone. Action: I pulled over safely, used the printed manifest to group deliveries by postcode, and mentally re-sequenced the route. I contacted the depot to flag two slots at risk and they called ahead to those customers. Result: I completed all 11 remaining deliveries within their time windows, with only one customer requiring a 10-minute courtesy call — no failed deliveries recorded.
