I nostri consigli per candidarsi

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Highlight your valid UK driving licence prominently at the top of your CV, as the advert lists it as the primary hard requirement — note the licence category and confirm fewer than 3 penalty points.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 25+ doorstep deliveries per shift across a 40-mile radius with a 99% on-time rate' to show reliability and volume.

3

🎯 Mirror the advert's language around 'customer trust' and 'doorstep service' in your Personal Statement — Tesco specifically calls out the driver as 'the face of Tesco on the road'.

4

🤝 Include a line about handling order changes or substitutions calmly with customers, as the advert explicitly lists this as a core responsibility.

5

🚐 Mention any experience with vehicle pre-use checks, loading procedures, or van/HGV operation, as the advert emphasises roadworthiness and safe loading.

Aperçu — adapté à Tesco

Dear Hiring Manager,

Tesco's reputation for putting customers first is exactly the environment I want to work in, which is why the Customer Delivery Driver role at the Carlisle Warwick Road Superstore appeals to me directly. I hold a valid full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points and over 12 months' driving experience, and I am confident in carrying out thorough vehicle safety checks and loading vans correctly to protect every order in transit.

My background in customer-facing and delivery work has given me the ability to manage time-slot pressures independently while remaining warm and reassuring at the doorstep — including handling order substitutions and short-dated items in a way that keeps customers informed and satisfied. I understand that as the face of Tesco on the road, every interaction reflects the brand.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent service to a customer under time pressure.

Situation: During a busy Saturday shift at a local courier company, I had 26 deliveries to complete in 7 hours with two last-minute address changes added mid-route. Task: I needed to keep every customer within their 1-hour delivery window while managing the rerouting. Action: I quickly reprioritised the route using the onboard sat-nav, contacted the depot to flag the changes, and communicated revised arrival times to the two affected customers via the delivery app. I stayed calm and friendly at every doorstep. Result: All 26 deliveries were completed on time, and I received a 5-star customer rating from 18 of the 26 recipients that day — the highest on the team that week.
2Question

Give an example of when you had to communicate difficult news to a customer and how you handled it.

Situation: While working a grocery delivery shift, I arrived at a customer's home to find that 4 items in their order had been substituted and one was missing entirely due to a warehouse stock issue. Task: I needed to explain this clearly without causing frustration and resolve it on the spot. Action: I greeted the customer warmly, explained each substitution individually with the reason, offered a full refund on the missing item using the handheld device, and apologised sincerely without making excuses. I also noted their preferences for future orders in the system. Result: The customer thanked me personally and left a positive comment on the post-delivery survey, and my manager highlighted the interaction in the next team briefing.
