I nostri consigli per candidarsi

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV with your valid UK driving licence details (full/automatic, years held, penalty points) as this is the single mandatory qualification stated in the advert.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 25+ doorstep deliveries per shift across a 40-mile radius with a 98% on-time rate'.

3

🎯 Highlight any experience handling customer complaints, substitutions or refunds at the doorstep, as the advert specifically calls this out as a key responsibility.

4

🤝 Mention experience working independently on a route while reporting back to a base team, mirroring the autonomous-yet-team-supported structure Tesco describes.

5

🚐 Include any van or LGV driving roles, pre-drive vehicle checks, or load safety experience, as the advert lists these as explicit daily responsibilities.

Aperçu — adapté à Tesco

Dear Hiring Manager,

Tesco's reputation for putting customers first is what draws me to the Customer Delivery Driver role at Dumfries Extra. I hold a valid full UK driving licence with over two years' clean driving history and have hands-on experience completing doorstep deliveries on tight time slots — two requirements at the heart of this position.

My background in customer-facing delivery roles has equipped me to handle order substitutions and short-dated item conversations confidently, keeping customers reassured and the experience smooth. I am comfortable carrying out pre-drive vehicle checks, loading vans safely, and managing a solo route while staying in contact with a base team when needed.

Réponses modèles avec la méthode Situation-Tâche-Action-Résultat. À adapter à votre vécu.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent service to a customer under time pressure.

Situation: During a busy Saturday shift I had 30 deliveries to complete in 7 hours, and one customer called to say they needed their order early for a family event. Task: I needed to reorganise my remaining route without missing other customers' time slots. Action: I contacted the depot, flagged the request, and rerouted so the priority customer was next on my list. I arrived 20 minutes early, explained three substituted items clearly, and processed one refund on the spot. Result: The customer left a five-star feedback note the following week, and I still completed all 30 deliveries within their scheduled windows.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to adapt quickly to an unexpected change while working independently.

Situation: Midway through a delivery route, my van's tyre pressure warning light activated on a rural road 8 miles from the depot. Task: I had 14 remaining deliveries and needed to act safely without abandoning customer orders. Action: I pulled over safely, assessed the tyre visually, confirmed it was driveable at low speed, called the depot immediately, and was redirected to the nearest garage 2 miles away. A colleague met me there with a replacement vehicle within 40 minutes. Result: I completed 11 of the 14 remaining deliveries that shift, and the depot rescheduled the final 3 with same-day afternoon slots, avoiding any customer complaints.
