I nostri consigli per candidarsi

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV with your valid UK driving licence details (full/automatic, years held, penalty points) as this is the single non-negotiable requirement stated in the advert.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 25+ doorstep deliveries per shift across 15-mile radius, maintaining 98% on-time arrival rate'.

3

🎯 Highlight any experience handling customer complaints or order changes at the doorstep, as the advert specifically calls out substitutions and short-dated items handling.

4

🤝 Include a line about lone-working capability — the advert emphasises working independently for much of the day, so demonstrating self-management is key.

5

🌐 Mention any experience with vehicle checks or fleet compliance (e.g. pre-drive walkaround checks), as loading safely and confirming roadworthiness are listed responsibilities.

Aperçu — adapté à Tesco

Dear Hiring Manager,

Tesco's reputation for putting customers first is exactly the standard I hold myself to on the road — which is why the Customer Delivery Driver role at the Prescot Extra store caught my attention. I hold a full UK driving licence with no penalty points and have experience completing pre-drive vehicle checks and managing time-sensitive delivery schedules, both of which are central to this position.

My background in customer-facing roles has equipped me to handle order substitutions and short-dated item conversations with confidence and warmth, ensuring customers feel reassured rather than disappointed. I am comfortable working independently for extended periods while staying accountable to a team back at base, and I take pride in treating every delivery as if the order were my own.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent customer service under pressure.

Situation: During a busy Saturday shift at a supermarket, I was running 20 minutes behind on my delivery route due to heavy traffic. Task: I needed to complete 6 remaining deliveries within their booked slots while keeping customers informed. Action: I called ahead to the next 3 customers to update their expected arrival time, apologised proactively, and prioritised the order of remaining drops by proximity. I also offered a small goodwill gesture — a discount voucher — to the two customers most impacted by the delay. Result: All 6 deliveries were completed within 35 minutes, and 4 of those customers left positive feedback scores. No escalations were raised to my manager.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to adapt quickly to an unexpected change while working independently.

Situation: Midway through a delivery round, I discovered that 8 items across 4 orders had been substituted at the warehouse without the customers being notified in advance. Task: I had to handle these conversations at each doorstep without any prior briefing, while keeping to my time slots. Action: I reviewed the substitution details on the handheld device before each stop, prepared a clear explanation, and offered refunds where customers were unhappy. I stayed calm and friendly throughout, treating each conversation individually. Result: Three customers accepted the substitutes after my explanation, one requested a refund which I processed on the spot, and all four rated the interaction positively in the post-delivery survey.
