Our tips for applying

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV with your valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence details (full or automatic, under 3 penalty points) as this is the single non-negotiable requirement stated in the advert.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 25+ customer deliveries per shift with a 98% on-time arrival rate' to stand out against other applicants.

3

🎯 Highlight any previous doorstep or home delivery experience (grocery, parcel, food) prominently in your work history, as Tesco explicitly values customer-facing road presence.

4

🤝 Include a line about handling order changes or customer complaints calmly, mirroring the advert's emphasis on communicating substitutions and short-dated items at the doorstep.

5

🚐 Mention vehicle checks, loading procedures, or van maintenance familiarity — the advert lists these as direct responsibilities, so matching this language improves ATS scoring.

Exemples de réponses STAR

Réponses modèles avec la méthode Situation-Tâche-Action-Résultat. À adapter à votre vécu.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent service to a customer who was initially unhappy.

Situation: While working as a delivery driver for a local grocery firm, I arrived at a customer's home to find that 4 items in their order had been substituted without prior notice. The customer was frustrated as two substitutes were products she couldn't eat due to dietary requirements. Task: I needed to resolve her concern quickly, maintain her trust in the service, and process a partial refund on the spot. Action: I calmly explained each substitution, immediately flagged the two unsuitable items, processed a refund of £11.40 for those products, and noted her preferences for future orders in the delivery app. Result: She thanked me before I left and left a 5-star rating for that delivery, and requested me as her preferred driver for the following three weeks.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to adapt quickly to an unexpected change while working independently.

Situation: Midway through a 20-drop evening shift, my sat-nav lost signal in a rural area and two consecutive addresses had incorrect postcodes logged in the system. Task: I had to locate both addresses independently and still complete the remaining 18 deliveries within their time slots. Action: I used a combination of the delivery notes, a paper map in the van, and a quick call to the depot to cross-reference the correct street names. I reordered my remaining drops to recover 12 minutes of lost time. Result: All 20 deliveries were completed within their windows, and neither affected customer received a late notification — the shift finished only 8 minutes behind the original schedule.
