Nos conseils pour postuler

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV with your valid UK driving licence details (full/automatic, years held, penalty points) as the advert lists this as a hard requirement under 'You will need'.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 25+ doorstep deliveries per shift with a 98% on-time arrival rate across a 6-month period'.

3

🎯 Highlight any experience handling customer complaints or order changes at the doorstep — the advert specifically calls out substitutions and short-dated items as a key responsibility.

4

🤝 Include a brief mention of van or vehicle checks in your work history, as the advert emphasises roadworthy checks and load safety as daily duties.

5

🌐 If you have prior retail, logistics or grocery delivery experience (e.g. Amazon Flex, Ocado, Sainsbury's), name the employer explicitly — Tesco values sector-relevant background for this customer-facing role.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent customer service under time pressure.

Situation: During a busy Saturday shift at a grocery delivery company, I was running 20 minutes behind schedule after a road closure added unexpected mileage to my route. Task: I needed to complete 12 remaining deliveries within their booked slots without customers feeling let down. Action: I called ahead to the 3 customers most at risk of a late arrival, explained the delay clearly and offered to leave orders in a safe place if needed. I also re-sequenced my remaining stops to recover 8 minutes. Result: All 12 deliveries were completed within a 10-minute window of the booked slot, and two of the customers I called proactively left 5-star feedback that week.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to adapt quickly to an unexpected change while working independently.

Situation: Midway through a solo delivery shift, I discovered that 6 of my 30 orders contained a substituted item that had not been flagged on the manifest, meaning customers were unaware. Task: I had to communicate the changes clearly at each doorstep and offer refunds where customers were unhappy, all while keeping to my time slots. Action: I reviewed the affected orders during a brief stop, prepared a short explanation for each substitution, and approached each doorstep calmly and transparently. I processed 4 refunds on the handheld device without needing to call back to base. Result: I completed the full route only 7 minutes late and received no complaints logged against those deliveries.
