Nos conseils pour postuler

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV personal statement with your valid UK driving licence and clean record (no more than 3 penalty points), as this is the primary eligibility requirement stated in the advert.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery or driving experience: e.g. 'Completed 25+ customer deliveries per shift across a 40-mile radius with a 98% on-time rate' to stand out against other applicants.

3

🎯 Highlight any experience handling customer complaints, refunds, or order changes at the doorstep, as Tesco explicitly lists this as a core responsibility.

4

🤝 Reference experience working independently on the road while remaining accountable to a base team — this mirrors Tesco's described working pattern exactly.

5

🚐 Mention any vehicle safety or pre-drive check experience (e.g. HGV walkaround checks, van inspections) as the advert specifically requires loading safely and completing roadworthiness checks.

Aperçu — adapté à Tesco

Dear Hiring Manager,

Tesco's reputation for putting customers first is exactly the environment in which I want to apply my driving experience and customer service skills — which is why the Customer Delivery Driver role at your Wigan Extra store caught my attention. I hold a valid full UK driving licence with a clean record and have a proven track record of completing vehicle safety checks and delivering time-sensitive orders with care and accuracy.

My background in customer-facing and delivery roles has equipped me to handle doorstep interactions professionally, including communicating order substitutions or shortfalls in a calm and reassuring manner. I am comfortable working independently for extended periods while remaining responsive to base-team guidance, and I take pride in treating every customer order with the same care I would expect myself.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent service to a customer in a challenging situation.

Situation: During a busy Christmas period at my previous delivery job, I arrived at a customer's address to find that 4 items in their order had been substituted without prior notice. The customer was visibly frustrated as the substitutes didn't meet their dietary needs. Task: I needed to resolve the situation quickly and professionally while keeping the delivery schedule on track. Action: I calmly explained each substitution, offered a full refund on the unwanted items via the handheld device, and flagged the issue to the depot so the customer could be prioritised for a follow-up slot. Result: The customer thanked me directly and left a 5-star feedback rating. I completed the remaining 22 drops that shift on time.
2Question

Describe a time when you had to adapt quickly to an unexpected change while working independently.

Situation: Midway through a solo delivery shift covering 18 stops, my sat-nav failed and a road closure blocked my planned route through the town centre. Task: I had to reroute in real time to avoid missing 6 afternoon time slots. Action: I pulled over safely, used my mobile map app to identify a 3-mile alternative route, and contacted the depot to flag a likely 10-minute delay on two stops so customers could be notified. Result: I completed all 18 deliveries within the scheduled windows, with only one stop running 8 minutes late — well within Tesco's acceptable threshold — and received no customer complaints that day.
