Nos conseils pour postuler

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Place your QTS qualification and subject specialism prominently at the top of your CV under a Professional Profile, as the advert lists these as the primary requirements.

2

📊 Quantify your classroom impact: e.g. 'Improved Year 10 GCSE predicted grades by 18% across a cohort of 28 students through targeted intervention sessions'.

3

🎯 Explicitly state your KS3 and KS4 teaching experience in your work history, and flag any KS5 experience separately as the advert notes this as an additional opportunity.

4

🔒 Confirm your enhanced DBS status on the update service clearly in your CV or covering letter, as this is a stated requirement and speeds up placement with Teaching Personnel.

5

🌐 Highlight flexibility and willingness to work across multiple schools in Swansea and West Wales, as the role involves placements across a network of schools rather than a single setting.

1Question

Tell me about a time you adapted your teaching style to support a student who was struggling to engage with the curriculum.

Situation: During a Year 9 English unit, one student with undiagnosed literacy difficulties was consistently disengaged and falling behind the rest of the class. Task: I needed to maintain pace for 28 other students while ensuring this student could access the material. Action: I redesigned two lessons to include visual scaffolding and audio resources, introduced a peer reading partner, and met with the SENCO to flag the student for assessment. I also provided a simplified written framework for essay tasks. Result: Within four weeks, the student completed their first full written assignment and achieved a Level 4 on the end-of-unit assessment, up from a Level 2 at the start of term.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to manage a particularly challenging classroom behaviour — what did you do and what was the outcome?

Situation: In a Year 10 supply placement, I inherited a class with a history of low-level disruption that had affected three previous supply teachers in the same half-term. Task: I needed to establish authority and a positive learning environment from the first lesson. Action: I introduced clear, consistent expectations in the first five minutes, used a seating plan I had prepared in advance, and applied the school's behaviour policy with calm, visible consistency throughout. I also identified two students acting as disruptive influencers and repositioned them within the room. Result: By the third lesson, recorded disruptions dropped from 11 per session to 2, and the class completed a full assessed task for the first time that half-term.
