Unsere Tipps für Ihre Bewerbung

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Open your Personal Statement with the phrase 'construction consultancy Project Manager' — the advert explicitly states consultancy experience is mandatory, so mirror this language in your CV header.

2

📊 Quantify your project delivery record: e.g. 'Managed 6 concurrent schemes totalling £12M across commercial and residential sectors in the North West, delivering all on programme and within 2% of budget.'

3

🎯 Dedicate a section to pre and post-contract experience, listing specific RIBA stages you have led — the advert calls out both stages as essential and ATS filters will scan for this.

4

🏅 Prominently flag your chartership status or APC progress (MRICS, MAPM, or MCIOB) near the top of your CV, as the advert offers membership support and views this as a differentiator.

5

🤝 Include a 'Sectors' line in your CV profile listing every construction sector you have delivered in (e.g. education, healthcare, commercial fit-out) — the advert notes cross-sector experience as advantageous and this signals breadth to the hiring panel.

1Question

Tell me about a time you had to deliver a project that was falling behind programme — what actions did you take and what was the outcome?

Situation: A £4.2M commercial refurbishment in Manchester fell 4 weeks behind programme after the structural steel subcontractor encountered unforeseen ground conditions during enabling works. Task: As lead Project Manager, I was responsible for recovering the programme without exceeding the agreed budget. Action: I convened an emergency programme workshop with the contractor and structural engineer, resequenced 3 work packages to run concurrently, and negotiated a revised steel delivery slot 10 days earlier than originally scheduled. I also introduced weekly short-interval planning meetings to track recovery milestones. Result: The project achieved practical completion only 8 days beyond the original date, and the client confirmed the final account was settled within the agreed contract sum.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to manage a difficult client relationship during a complex project stage.

Situation: During the post-contract stage of a £2.8M education block extension, the client's estates director became increasingly dissatisfied with the pace of information responses from the design team, raising concerns directly with the contractor and bypassing the project management structure. Task: I needed to restore confidence in the consultancy's oversight and re-establish the correct communication protocols. Action: I arranged a face-to-face review meeting, presented a live information required schedule showing 11 outstanding design queries with named owners and resolution dates, and introduced a fortnightly client progress dashboard. Result: Within 6 weeks, the client formally acknowledged improved transparency in writing, information flow improved by 40%, and the project completed on programme with no formal complaints raised.
