Our tips for applying

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your CV with your valid UK driving licence details (full/automatic, years held, penalty points) as this is the single hard requirement stated in the advert.

2

📊 Quantify your delivery experience: e.g. 'Completed 25+ customer drops per shift across a 40-mile radius with a 98% on-time delivery rate'.

3

🎯 Highlight any experience handling customer complaints or order changes at the doorstep, as the advert specifically calls out communicating substitutions and short-dated items.

4

🤝 Mention experience working independently on the road while reporting back to a base team, mirroring the autonomous-but-supported structure Tesco describes.

5

🌐 Reference any previous retail, grocery, or logistics employer by name to signal familiarity with high-volume, time-sensitive delivery environments similar to Tesco's evening shift pattern (18:00–23:00).

Aperçu — adapté à Tesco

Dear Hiring Manager,

Tesco's reputation for putting customers first is precisely why the Customer Delivery Driver role at Bradley Stoke Extra appeals to me. I hold a valid full UK driving licence with under 3 penalty points and over 12 months' driving history, and I have hands-on experience managing time-sensitive deliveries while maintaining a high standard of doorstep customer service — two qualities your advert places at the heart of this role.

My background in delivery and customer-facing work has equipped me to handle order substitutions and short-dated items with clarity and reassurance, carry out thorough pre-drive vehicle checks, and load vans safely to protect every order. I am comfortable working independently during evening shifts while staying connected to a base team, and I consistently meet tight time slot schedules without compromising on the quality of service customers receive.

Exemples de réponses STAR

Réponses modèles avec la méthode Situation-Tâche-Action-Résultat. À adapter à votre vécu.

1Question

Tell me about a time you delivered excellent service to a customer who was initially unhappy.

Situation: During an evening delivery shift, I arrived at a customer's home to find that 4 items in their order had been substituted, including a key dietary product. The customer was visibly frustrated. Task: I needed to resolve the situation calmly and maintain trust in the service. Action: I walked the customer through each substitution clearly, explained the reason for each change, and immediately processed a refund for the one item they could not accept. I also noted their preference in the delivery system for future reference. Result: The customer thanked me before I left and later gave a 5-star rating in the post-delivery survey. The store manager highlighted the feedback in the next team briefing.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to adapt quickly to an unexpected change while working independently.

Situation: Midway through an evening delivery run of 24 drops, my sat-nav lost signal in a rural area and two addresses had incomplete postcodes on the manifest. Task: I had to complete the remaining deliveries on time without support from the depot, which had closed for the evening. Action: I used a secondary maps app on my personal phone, cross-referenced house numbers with street names, and reordered my remaining 8 drops to minimise backtracking, saving approximately 20 minutes. Result: All 24 deliveries were completed within their time slots, and I flagged the postcode issue to the depot manager the following morning, leading to a data-quality review of 300 customer address records.
