I nostri consigli per candidarsi

5 recommandations générées par notre IA pour maximiser vos chances.

1

⭐ Lead your Personal Statement with explicit mention of construction consultancy experience, as the advert states this is a hard requirement — candidates without it will not be considered.

2

📊 Quantify your pre-construction delivery: e.g. 'Led governance set-up for 4 public sector regeneration programmes totalling £120M capital value, reducing approval timescales by 20%'.

3

🎯 Highlight any PRINCE2, MAPM, MRICS or MICE credentials prominently in a dedicated 'Qualifications & Accreditations' section — the advert lists chartered status as a key requirement.

4

🌐 Showcase specific public sector client experience (local authorities, government bodies) with named project types such as regeneration or infrastructure, as the role centres on public sector programme delivery in Nottingham.

5

🤝 Include a bullet on mentoring or developing junior project managers, as the role explicitly requires supporting the development of junior PM professionals.

Aperçu — adapté à Brandon James Ltd

Dear Hiring Manager,

Brandon James Ltd's Senior Project Manager vacancy at this Nottingham consultancy aligns precisely with the direction of my career. Having spent several years delivering pre-construction governance and programme set-up for public sector infrastructure and regeneration clients, I am drawn to the consultancy's strong pipeline of public authority work and its focus on front-end project strategy — two areas where I have consistently added measurable value.

My background in construction project management consultancy spans complex stakeholder environments involving local authorities and government bodies, where I have developed governance frameworks, led business case activities and coordinated multidisciplinary consultant teams through pre-contract phases. I hold a degree in Construction Management and am currently progressing towards MAPM chartership, which I would look to complete within this role.

1Question

Tell me about a time you managed a complex stakeholder environment involving multiple public authorities — how did you align competing priorities?

Situation: On a £55M urban regeneration scheme, I was managing relationships across a combined authority, two district councils and a Homes England regional team, each with different reporting requirements and approval timescales. Task: I needed to align all four bodies on a single governance structure before pre-contract could proceed. Action: I facilitated a series of structured workshops to map each authority's decision-making process, then designed a unified reporting framework with a shared risk register and a monthly cross-authority board. I also introduced a single point of contact protocol to reduce duplicated queries. Result: All four stakeholders signed off the governance framework within 8 weeks, and the programme reached pre-contract stage 3 weeks ahead of the original baseline.
2Question

Describe a situation where a pre-construction programme was at risk of delay. What actions did you take and what was the outcome?

Situation: Six weeks into a £30M infrastructure project initiation, a planning authority review introduced a 10-week statutory consultation period that threatened to push the pre-contract programme 12 weeks beyond the client's funding deadline. Task: As Senior Project Manager, I was responsible for recovering the programme without compromising governance. Action: I re-sequenced the programme to run procurement and business case finalisation in parallel with the consultation period, negotiated an early contractor engagement process with the client's legal team, and introduced fortnightly risk reviews to track the critical path. Result: The programme recovered 9 of the 12 weeks at risk, and the client met their funding deadline with 2 weeks to spare, avoiding a £1.4M grant forfeiture.
